Deep Freeze

DEEP  FREEZE!!!

Very cold here tonight. The dogs are buried in blankets on the couch. I feel sorry they have to go outside to do their duty. I saw on the news last night someone throwing a cup of hot water in the air and having it instantly freeze. I am surely hoping for a "cold" day off from school tomorrow. The kids today were hyped up about it. They were all in hopes of having a four day weekend with M.L.K. Day on Monday.

Last night when we got home from work, the Twins (our deer) and another were on the back of Lake Wobegone eating "browse".  I am sure they were hungry as I have never seen them back there. I had discussion with Goober on the way home about buying corn for them to get them through the next few days of bitter cold. He thought I was nuts. I used to give my horses extra corn on very cold days to keep them warm.

I am pretty sure I saw about five bluebirds flying today. They sounded like bluebirds and their flight pattern reminded me of them.  I saw bluebirds

once in February during a very bad snowstorm when I was out walking my dogs. I was so shocked. They were flying pretty low to the ground but were definitely blue birds! It was like watching fresh flowers from your garden sprouting and blooming in the middle of winter.

Comments to my one and only "follower" - The car was one I downloaded although you are right, it is similar to our old "Sophie" as we fondly refer to her. She is much prettier though. Also, love your friends'  blogs. I have to get more creative with my pictures. Thanks for checking out my blog!

Saw the series "Principal's Office" tonight. It was interesting and very much what I see on a daily basis. It is a documentary about school's everyday goings-on.  Wish we could film some of our kids and their stupid actions.

Talked to my sister, G, in FL tonight. She said she and her husband signed up to do a citizen patrol of their neighborhood, much to his protesting. They got all ready to go and she realized it was not until next week.....

This picture came to my mind:

Well, the boys are sighing. That means they want to go to bed. One occasionally sits up and stares at me which is a sure sign he has had it.

Nighty-night!

  1. Hey -- are you funning us!! That is probably just what we'll look like if we come upon something we don't expect to see in our two hour ride around. Our CP numbers are 53 and you guessed it -- Car 54 -- where are you!!! WE don't use names - only numbers. Hope we have a quiet night and your nights get warmer. G.
